ACME Solar commissions 2.29 GWh BESS capacity in FY27 to date
ACME Solar Holdings Limited has commissioned approximately 2.29 GWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity during the current financial year to date, taking its total operational storage capacity to approximately 3.62 GWh across three project sites in Rajasthan.
The company said the latest additions represent one of the fastest scale-ups of BESS deployment in India, as developers increasingly integrate storage assets to improve renewable energy dispatchability and support grid operations.
Storage expansion
ACME Solar’s operational BESS portfolio is designed to support grid stability, manage peak-hour demand and enable round-the-clock renewable power supply. The expansion comes as battery storage assumes a larger role in balancing intermittent renewable generation and meeting emerging flexibility requirements of the power system.
The company’s operational portfolio currently comprises 2,990 MW of contracted generation capacity alongside 3.62 GWh of BESS. In addition, ACME Solar has 5,080 MW of contracted capacity under construction.
On July 22, ACME Suryodaya Private Limited commissioned 160.512 MWh of BESS capacity in Rajasthan, contributing to the group’s growing energy storage footprint.
