Acme Solar Holdings Ltd has commissioned an additional 155 MW / 470.25 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan, taking its total commissioned BESS capacity to 297.67 MW / 951.74 MWh, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The newly added capacity forms part of a planned BESS portfolio of 835 MW / 3,114.64 MWh across special-purpose vehicles. These projects are connected to the inter-state transmission system (ISTS) and will operate on a merchant basis, earning revenue from price differences between peak and non-peak demand periods.

In a separate filing, the company said its wholly owned subsidiary, Acme Surya Power Private Ltd, has commissioned the second phase of a 35.714 MW / 160.48 MWh BESS project at Jaimalsar in Bikaner district. The commercial operation date for this phase is March 26, 2026. Following this, the subsidiary’s commissioned capacity stands at 95.714 MW / 430.086 MWh, against a total project size of 250 MW / 1,103.392 MWh.

The company stated that its BESS projects are designed to support grid reliability by charging during non-peak periods and discharging during peak demand hours.

On March 25, 2026, Acme Solar had commissioned BESS phases at Bikaner and Jaisalmer, including a 60 MW / 269.606 MWh phase at Bikaner and a 95 MW / 200.64 MWh phase at Jaisalmer. With the latest commissioning, the company has further expanded its BESS footprint in Rajasthan.

Acme Solar operates a total portfolio of 8,071 MW across solar, wind, storage, firm and dispatchable renewable energy, and hybrid solutions. Its operational contracted capacity stands at 2,978 MW, including about 1 GWh of BESS capacity. An additional 5,093 MW is under construction, including about 16 GWh of BESS installations, while 3,292 MW is under power purchase agreement (PPA) signed stage.
