A.P. Moller Capital to invest Rs 13.5 billion in renewable projects

A.P. Moller Capital has announced plans to invest up to Rs 13.5 billion in renewable energy projects being developed by Rays Power Infra Limited. The investment will be made through project-specific special-purpose vehicles.

The funding is expected to catalyse at least Rs 52 billion in total project capital expenditure. According to the company, the investment will support project execution, strengthen long-term revenue visibility, and create opportunities for future collaboration. This transaction also marks A.P. Moller Capital Funds’ first investment in India.

Ketan Mehta, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer MD and CEO of Rays Power Infra Limited, said the partnership strengthens the company’s long-term plan to build renewable energy infrastructure at scale. He added that the investment validates Rays Power Infra’s development platform and will help accelerate the delivery of utility-scale solar assets across India.

Semih Gökmen, Partner at A.P. Moller Capital, stated that the partnership enables deployment of long-term capital into a strong project pipeline in one of the fastest-growing renewable energy markets globally. He said the firm’s operational approach aligns well with the development capabilities of Rays Power Infra.

Kim Fejfer, Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer CEO of A.P. Moller Capital, said the investment represents the firm’s first significant step into India’s renewable energy market. He noted that India’s energy transition is supported by strong policy signals and market fundamentals, creating large-scale infrastructure opportunities. He also highlighted the A.P. Moller Group’s long-standing engagement in India and A.P. Moller Capital’s experience in scaling infrastructure platforms.
