Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) has committed an investment of Rs 210 billion to develop two pumped storage hydro projects in Maharashtra, with a combined capacity of 4,000 MW. Megha Engineering & Infrastructures (MEIL) has commissioned five solar plants in Maharashtra with a combined capacity of 19 MW, set up under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM) scheme. Transformation and transmission capacity overview for August 2024

As of August 2024, the total transformation capacity in India reached 12,69,350 MVA. During the financial year 2024-25, up until August, a total of 18,270 MVA had been added to the country’s substations, with 3,650 MVA being added in August alone. Report: July 2024 transformation capacity update

In July 2024, India’s power sector saw the addition of 4,360 MVA to its transformation capacity. This brought the total capacity added for the fiscal year 2024-25, up to July, to 14,620 MVA. As a result, the current total transformation capacity in India reached 12,65,700 MVA. The Central Sector added 4,815 MVA in July.
