Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) and Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) have qualified to open initial price bids for the Jam Khambhaliya Pooling Station augmentation scheme in Gujarat. PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL) is coordinating the bidding process under the ISTS scheme, “Augmentation of transformation capacity at Jam Khambhaliya PS (GIS),” which could progress to an e-reverse auction (e-RA) based on initial bids. The winner will be chosen through final price bids from the e-RA.
The Rs 3.1 billion scheme aims to boost the capacity of the Jam Khambhaliya GIS Pooling Station by adding four 1×500 MVA, 400/220kV transformers, bringing the total to nine. The project supports renewable energy integration from solar and wind farms in the Dwarka region and has a completion timeline of 21 months, with some elements scheduled for completion in 18 months.
The existing Jam Khambhaliya Pooling Station, commissioned in November 2022 by Jam Khambhaliya Transco Ltd (a subsidiary of AESL), has a capacity of 2,000 MVA and includes transformers and a 38-ckm 400kV double-circuit line extension. Initially, the augmentation was split into two components, but the National Committee on Transmission later decided to develop the entire scheme under the TBCB route.
