The first solar park under the MukhyaMantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY 2.0) has started generating daytime power for farmers in Dhondalgaon village, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district, Maharashtra. Led by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL), the 3 MW solar project is part of the state’s larger goal of developing 9,200 MW of solar energy under MSKVY 2.0 to solarise 30% of feeders by 2025.

The project, developed on 13 acres of public land, will supply daytime power to 1,753 agricultural pumps connected to five electric feeders. The initiative is set to benefit farmers in Dhondalgaon, Nalegaon, Amanatpurwadi, and Sanjapurwadi. The power utility awarded the project on 7 March 2024, and a power purchase agreement was signed shortly after. The total solar capacity is expected to be achieved by December 2025.
