Vikran Engineering wins Rs 120 crore POWERGRID GIS substation order
Vikran Engineering Limited has received a Notification of Award from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) for the 400 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Substation Extension Package SS-147, valued at approximately Rs 120.69 crore, exclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
The order covers augmentation of transformation capacity at three POWERGRID substations in Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Awarded through Domestic Competitive Bidding, the project includes design, engineering, manufacture, testing, supply, erection and commissioning of GIS equipment.
Project scope
The works will be carried out at the 400/220 kV Magramwada GIS Substation in Dadra & Nagar Haveli, the 765/400/220 kV Vadodara GIS Substation in Gujarat, and the 400/220 kV Rajgarh Substation in Madhya Pradesh.
The project involves construction of 400/220 kV GIS bays and associated works for augmenting transformation capacity at the three transmission facilities. Execution will be undertaken through two integrated contracts covering supply of goods and services.
The augmentation is intended to strengthen transmission infrastructure at these nodes and increase their capacity to handle and evacuate power. The works are expected to improve grid reliability and power evacuation capability across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
The additional transformation infrastructure is also expected to support rising electricity demand associated with industrial and commercial growth in the region while improving the resilience of India’s National Grid.
