Bondada receives CEA approval for 300 MW Khavda solar project

Bondada Engineering Limited has received approval for energisation from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) for a 300 MW grid-connected solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat.

The project is being executed on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis for NLC India Renewables Limited and represents a key milestone ahead of the plant’s integration with the grid.

The CEA approval clears the project for energisation and will enable the addition of 300 MW of solar capacity to the national grid. The development marks the completion of a critical regulatory requirement for utility-scale power projects prior to commercial operations.

The project is part of the ongoing renewable energy build-out at Khavda, which is emerging as one of India’s largest clean energy hubs, with multiple solar, wind and storage projects under development.

For Bondada Engineering, the approval adds to its portfolio of utility-scale renewable EPC projects and further strengthens its execution record in delivering infrastructure projects for Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).

The latest milestone follows another order secured by the company in the energy storage segment. Recently, Bondada Engineering received a Notification of Award (NOA) from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) for the EPC package of a 100 MWh Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Energy Storage System (VRFB BESS) at Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat.
