SAEL Solar wins NTPC REL order for 585.8 MWp Chitrakoot-1 project

SAEL Industries Ltd has announced that its subsidiary, SAEL Solar P6 Pvt Ltd, has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL) for the supply of TOPCon solar photovoltaic (PV) modules for the 585.8 MWp Chitrakoot-1 solar PV project in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the company, the order represents the largest block of the Chitrakoot-1 project.

Under the contract, SAEL Solar P6 will manufacture and supply high-efficiency TOPCon solar PV modules for the project.

SAEL Solar P6 is a wholly owned subsidiary of SAEL Industries Limited (SIL) and is engaged in the manufacturing of solar PV cells and modules. The company was incorporated in August 2023 to lead SAEL’s expansion into domestic solar manufacturing.

SAEL Solar P6 is developing an integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem with a planned capacity of 10 GW, comprising 5 GW of solar cell manufacturing and 5 GW of module manufacturing. The facility is being established in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region at Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, with an initial investment of Rs 8,200 crore.

The latest order strengthens the company’s order book as it expands its domestic manufacturing footprint to cater to India’s growing utility-scale solar market.
