EMMVEE orders 6 GW TOPCon solar cell equipment from RENA
RENA Technologies has secured a contract from EMMVEE Energy Private Limited for the supply of high-throughput solar cell production equipment with a total manufacturing capacity of 6 GW. The project is aimed at expanding domestic photovoltaic manufacturing capacity in India.
The equipment will support the production of Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) solar cells. The scope of supply includes multiple units of BatchTex 3 N600, InEtchSide 4+ BSG for borosilicate glass removal, InEtchSide 4+ PSG for phosphosilicate glass removal, BatchEtch 3 N600 and BatchPolyClean 3 N600 for high-volume solar cell manufacturing.
According to RENA, the equipment incorporates water-, chemical- and power-saving technologies with a low installation footprint to reduce operating costs. The contract also includes integrated wastewater management systems for each production tool to support environmental compliance and reduce wastewater treatment requirements.
The agreement further covers a long-term service package comprising on-site and remote support, 24/7 technical assistance, customer training programmes and a dedicated spare parts package. The services will be supported by RENA’s spare parts warehouse in Chennai.
The project will be executed in collaboration with centrotherm and ISC Konstanz to deliver an integrated production solution.
Peter Schneidewind, Chief Executive Officer of RENA Technologies, said the order supports the expansion of domestic photovoltaic manufacturing in India and will enable gigawatt-scale production of high-efficiency TOPCon solar cells.
