Hindustan Power has won a contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India for a solar and battery energy storage system project with a contracted capacity of 150 MW. The award was made through SECI’s competitive bidding process.

The project will combine about 300 MWp of solar photovoltaic capacity with a 300 MWh BESS. The hybrid system is planned to deliver a stable and dispatchable supply and support wider renewable integration across the grid.

The company secured the project under the ISTS connected solar tender ISTS XX, which included integrated storage and used a tariff based competitive process with an e reverse auction. The configuration allows flexible deployment at multiple sites.

Ratul Puri, Chairman of Hindustan Power, said the project will help meet national energy transition needs and manage peak demand. The company is also developing a 435 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh and a 100 MW solar plus storage project in Assam.
