Prozeal wins Rs 2,000 crore ONGC wind power contract

Prozeal Green Energy Limited has received a Notification of Award (NOA) from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) for development of 250 MW (±2%) of captive Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind power projects across India.

The contract, valued at over Rs 2,000 crore, marks Prozeal’s entry into the utility-scale wind energy segment. The award was issued by ONGC’s Central Procurement Department in Delhi on June 5, 2026, which also serves as the effective commencement date of the contract.

Project scope

Under the lump-sum turnkey (LSTK) contract, Prozeal will undertake design, engineering, and supply of 50 wind electric generators (WEGs) along with towers, nacelles, and rotor blades.

The scope also includes civil and electrical works, internal and external power evacuation infrastructure, transmission up to the Central Transmission Utility (CTU)/grid substation, erection, testing, commissioning, and grid interconnection.

The project will be coordinated with ONGC Green Limited (OGL), a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC. The generated capacity is intended for captive use by ONGC.

Timeline and O&M

The project is scheduled for commissioning within 30 months from the date of award.

Prozeal will also provide a one-year Defect Liability Period (DLP) with free operation and maintenance (O&M) services, followed by a 10-year comprehensive O&M contract. The contract value includes supply, services, land arrangement, and the extended O&M period.

Strategic relevance

The order represents Prozeal’s entry into large-scale wind project execution and expands its presence in the renewable energy sector.

For ONGC, the captive wind capacity forms part of its strategy to increase renewable energy integration and reduce carbon emissions across its operations.
