Diamond Power commissions seventh MV/EHV cable line in Gujarat
Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited has commissioned its seventh medium voltage (MV) and extra high voltage (EHV) power cable production line at its manufacturing facility in Vadodara, Gujarat.
The newly operational line uses Continuous Catenary Vulcanisation (CCV) technology for the production of MV and EHV cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) power cables. According to the company, the commissioning forms part of its ongoing capacity expansion and technology upgrade programme.
The company also stated that three additional MV and EHV cable production lines are currently under installation and commissioning and are expected to become operational before March 31, 2027.
Diamond Power said the CCV technology offers advantages including improved insulation quality, lower partial discharge levels, enhanced electrical performance, higher reliability and longer operational life. The company added that the technology also supports manufacturing of higher voltage grades, improved process control and productivity, and compliance with international standards.
Commenting on the development, Nivedita Pandya, Vice President – Engineering and Projects, said the commissioning of the seventh CCV line marks another milestone in the company’s expansion strategy. She added that Diamond Power is increasing investments in advanced technologies and manufacturing capacity to strengthen its position in the MV and EHV cable market.
Pandya further stated that the additional lines under commissioning are expected to support rising demand from utilities, renewable energy projects, industrial infrastructure, and urban transmission networks.
The company said it expects sustained long-term growth in the MV and EHV cable segment in India and international markets, supported by renewable energy integration, underground transmission infrastructure, grid modernisation, urbanisation, and industrial electrification.
