Bajel Projects wins Maharashtra, Karnataka transmission EPC orders
Bajel Projects Limited has secured two engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for transmission infrastructure projects in Maharashtra and Karnataka, both classified by the company as “Major” orders valued between Rs 200 crore and Rs 300 crore, inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
The Maharashtra project involves development of a new 765/400 kV air-insulated switchgear (AIS) substation at Pune East along with extension works at the existing 400 kV Karjat and 400 kV Lonikand-II substations. The project forms part of a transmission network expansion programme aimed at easing grid constraints in the Pune region.
In Karnataka, Bajel Projects has secured an order for construction of around 70 km of 400 kV Quad Double Circuit transmission line connecting the Bellary substation with the Davanagere substation.
According to the company, the transmission line is part of a broader grid strengthening initiative designed to support renewable energy evacuation. The scheme is expected to facilitate evacuation of around 0.25 GW from Davanagere and 2.75 GW from Bellary into the national transmission network.
The latest domestic orders add to the company’s expanding project pipeline in both domestic and international markets.
In April 2026, Bajel Projects secured an Ultra-Mega EPC contract valued at Rs 400 crore and above for construction of a 500 kV overhead transmission line across two contiguous sections in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The project carries an execution timeline of 11 months.
Earlier, in March 2026, the company had won an EPC contract from Tata Power for the 220 kV Kalwa-Kalyan Pal transmission line project in Mumbai. The contract involved monopole structure construction and was valued between Rs 50 crore and Rs 100 crore.
