Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has expanded its transmission portfolio to 21,783 ckm and its transformation capacity to 61,686 MVA with the acquisition of the Khavda IV A transmission project. This project, acquired from RECPDCL under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route, will be developed as an interstate transmission system (ISTS) under the build, own, operate & transfer (BOOT) model for 35 years.

The Khavda IV A line will evacuate 7 GW of renewable energy, connecting 765kV lines from Khavda to Lakadia and Bhuj in Gujarat, with a transformation capacity of 4,500 MVA. AESL is investing around Rs 40.91 billion in this 298-km project, including 300 MVAr STATCOM and interconnecting transformers.

AESL’s current transmission line portfolio includes 21,783 ckm, with 3,669 ckm under construction, and a transformation capacity of 61,686 MVA, including 26,071 MVA under construction. AESL has six ISTS-TBCB projects underway, totalling 2,487 ckm of lines and 17,500 MVA of substation capacity.
