SWELECT commissions 5 MW solar plant for AAI in Tamil Nadu
SWELECT Energy Systems Limited has commissioned a 5 MW solar power plant in Tamil Nadu to supply renewable power to the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
The ground-mounted solar photovoltaic facility is located across Perumpondi and Nedumpirai Village in Cheyyar Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District. It has been connected to the Sirungattur 110/33-11 KV Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO) substation at the 110 KV level.
Electricity generated from the plant will be supplied to Chennai Airport, operated by AAI, under a third-party power sale arrangement. The supply will be routed through the Intra-State Open Access mechanism within Tamil Nadu.
With this commissioning, SWELECT Energy Systems has completed a total of 10 MW of solar capacity allocated to the AAI project.
