PTC India appoints Sukhdev Singh as Non-Executive Chairman

PTC India Limited has approved the appointment of Shri Sukhdev Singh as Non-Executive Chairman, effective from the date of receipt of consent from the Chairmen and Managing Directors (CMDs) of all four promoter companies. The decision was taken at the board meeting held on April 16, 2026.

Shri Sukhdev Singh, currently serving as an Independent Director on the board, will hold the position until completion of his existing tenure as Independent Director, ending on November 10, 2028.

The appointment follows the company’s earlier decision, disclosed on February 14, 2026, to split the combined role of Chairman and Managing Director into two separate positions: Non-Executive Chairman and Executive Managing Director.

Shri Sukhdev Singh, 62, is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1987 batch. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. He retired in 2024 after nearly 37 years in public service and held several senior administrative roles in Bihar and Jharkhand, including serving as Chief Secretary of Jharkhand for nearly four years.

His experience includes work across Home, Finance, Health and Family Welfare, Forest and Environment, and Water Resources departments. He joined the PTC India board as an Independent Director with effect from November 11, 2025.

The company stated that Shri Sukhdev Singh is not related to any other director and is not debarred from holding the office of director by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other authority.
