Vikran Engineering wins Rs 530.8 crore MSEDCL distribution contracts

Vikran Engineering Limited has secured two Letters of Award totalling Rs 530.80 crore (excluding GST) from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). The contracts, supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), focus on strengthening power distribution infrastructure in the Nashik and Kolhapur zones of Maharashtra.
The orders were awarded through a national competitive bidding process under the ADB-backed Power Distribution Enhancement Program. The Nashik Zone contract is valued at Rs 235.63 crore (about 44.4% of the total), while the Kolhapur Zone contract stands at Rs 295.17 crore (about 55.6%). Both projects will be executed on a turnkey basis, covering surveys, planning, design, manufacturing, supply, installation, commissioning, and civil works.
The scope includes development of new 33/11 kV, 22/11 kV, and 33/22 kV substations; construction of 33 kV, 22 kV, and 11 kV lines; augmentation of transformers; renovation of substations; installation of distribution transformers; expansion of low-tension lines; deployment of high-tension and low-tension underground cabling; and GIS (Geographic Information System) mapping with asset tagging. Each contract is scheduled for completion within 21 months from the respective Letter of Award.
Rakesh Markhedkar, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikran Engineering Limited, stated that the awards reflect the company’s execution track record and engineering capabilities in power distribution infrastructure. He noted that securing both zone packages through competitive bidding indicates confidence in the company’s project delivery capacity.
The company stated that the orders were received in the ordinary course of business. Vikran Engineering operates an asset-light model with in-house design capabilities and a vendor base of over 3,500 suppliers. It has completed 45 projects across 14 states for clients including NTPC, Power Grid Corporation of India, and state utilities.
