Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited has signed additional power purchase agreements (PPAs) with STT Global Data Centres India, taking the total contracted renewable energy capacity between the two companies beyond 130 MW. The latest agreement adds 21 MWp of solar capacity to CleanMax’s existing wind-solar hybrid supply for STT GDC India’s data centres in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The partnership now spans key data centre locations in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

Under the expanded arrangement, STT GDC India will hold a 26% equity stake in the renewable energy project, introducing a captive structure alongside the existing contracted supply model.

STT GDC India currently meets about 70% of its energy requirements from renewable sources and has set a target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. The company operates over 400 MW of critical information technology (IT) load across 30 facilities in 10 cities. The hybrid mix of solar and wind is intended to provide more consistent power supply to support high-density and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven workloads.

For CleanMax, the data centre and AI segment accounts for about 42% of its 5.7 GW contracted portfolio, reflecting significant growth over the past two years. Managing Director Kuldeep Jain stated that the partnership indicates a broader shift among digital infrastructure operators toward integrating clean energy into core operations. STT GDC India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bimal Khandelwal said the expanded supply aligns with rising energy demand from AI-led workloads while supporting the company’s carbon neutrality target.
