CESC Limited has issued Letters of Award (LOAs) for 600 MW of wind-solar hybrid power projects across four entities, following a tariff-based competitive bidding process. The projects carry a tenure of 25 years, with discovered tariffs in a narrow range of Rs. 3.74 to Rs. 3.75 per kWh.
Allocation split and tariffs
The largest share, 300 MW at Rs. 3.75/kWh, has been awarded to Purvah Green Power Private Limited, a subsidiary of CESC. The remaining 300 MW has been allocated equally among three external developers. Vismaya Renewables India Project Private Limited has secured 100 MW at Rs. 3.74/kWh, while Hexa Climate Solutions Private Limited and Sprng Energy Private Limited have each been awarded 100 MW at Rs. 3.75/kWh.
CESC stated that the award to Purvah Green Power qualifies as a related party transaction. It has been executed at arm’s length through the competitive bidding route.
Wind-solar hybrid projects combine two generation sources with different peak output patterns. This structure reduces variability in power generation and supports improved grid utilisation compared to standalone renewable projects.
