Grid Solutions, a GE Vernova business, has introduced the GRiDEA portfolio, a comprehensive suite of solutions designed to decarbonize the electrical grid and support the transition to sustainable energy. Unveiled at the CIGRE event in Paris, this portfolio highlights GE Vernova’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and advancing electrification technology.

The GRiDEA portfolio offers grid operators innovative solutions to significantly cut SF6 emissions and reduce the use of raw materials. Central to the portfolio are high-voltage SF6-free products, including g3 technology, which can lower CO2 equivalent emissions by 99% compared to conventional SF6 equipment. The portfolio also includes SF6-free switchgear up to 420 kV and new gaseous SF6-free technology for live tank circuit breakers, suitable for extremely low-temperature environments.

Emphasizing sustainable practices, GE Vernova’s GRiDEA portfolio incorporates recycled materials, such as copper and aluminium, and substitutes traditional copper wiring with fibre optics. The portfolio aims to extend the lifespan of equipment through advanced monitoring systems and modernization services while optimizing transmission and distribution infrastructure with more compact and efficient designs.
