Moxie Power secures 558 MW supply contract from TNPDCL

Adani Power Limited’s subsidiary, Moxie Power Generation Ltd, has received a Letter of Award from Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL) to supply 558 MW of power for five years, providing long-term revenue visibility for the company’s Tuticorin plant.

Moxie Power emerged as the lowest bidder in a competitive bidding process, quoting a tariff of Rs 5.910 per unit. Power supply is scheduled to begin from April 1, 2026, according to a company press release issued on Tuesday.

Moxie Power Generation operates a 1,200 MW power plant in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, consisting of two units of 600 MW each. With this award, both units now have power supply agreements in place, enabling full capacity utilisation at the facility.

The contract results in more than 95% of Adani Power’s total operating capacity being tied up under medium- to long-term agreements. This strengthens long-term revenue visibility and lowers exposure to short-term fluctuations in power market prices.

Adani Power stated that it is working toward achieving close to 100% power purchase agreement (PPA) tie-ups across its operational and under-commissioning plants in the coming years.

The arrangement is expected to support Tamil Nadu consumers by adding 558 MW of dependable power, improving grid stability and helping ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to households, commercial establishments and industries. The tariff of Rs 5.910 per unit is expected to support relatively affordable power over the contract duration.

Adani Power Limited, part of the Adani portfolio, is India’s largest private thermal power producer with an installed thermal capacity of 18,110 MW across twelve power plants located in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu. The company also operates a 40 MW solar power plant in Gujarat.
