German solar and wind park developer Energiekontor has obtained building permits for three wind park projects in Lower Saxony, Germany, with a combined generation capacity of approximately 116MW. Construction on these projects is set to begin shortly and they are expected to participate in the upcoming EEG (Renewable Energy Sources Act) tender by the Federal Network Agency in November 2024.

In addition to these new projects, Energiekontor is preparing for the financial close of several other wind and solar projects, which will further increase its generation capacity by over 100MW. CEO Peter Szabo noted that with these approvals, Energiekontor now has 36 building permits for projects in Germany, Scotland, and France, totaling around 1.2GW in nominal power—nearly matching the total capacity the company has developed since its founding.

Since its inception, Energiekontor has constructed over 160 wind and solar parks, generating 1.4GW of power. This capacity meets the annual electricity needs of about 810,000 German households and reduces CO2 emissions by around two million tonnes each year.
