RECPDCL invites bids for Vizag green hydrogen transmission and Dholpur grid project

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has invited competitive bids for two interstate transmission projects in Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan. 

On February 3, 2026, RECPDCL issued a Request for Proposal (RfP) to select a transmission service provider (TSP) for the Transmission system for proposed Green Hydrogen / Green Ammonia projects in Vizag area, Andhra Pradesh (Phase-I). The scope includes setting up new 765/400 kV gas insulated substations at Pendurthi in Vizag and Khammam II, associated high capacity transmission lines, and Static Synchronous Compensators. The bid submission deadline is April 7, 2026.

Earlier, on February 2, 2026, RECPDCL invited RfP bids for the 400/220 kV Grid Sub-Station at Dholpur along with associated transmission system in Rajasthan. The project is intended to address low voltage conditions and strengthen grid reliability in the Dholpur region. The scope includes installation of two 500 MVA transformers, development of new 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines, and loop in loop out of existing lines of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RVPN). The bid submission deadline is April 6, 2026.

The TSPs will be selected through a tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) process in line with central government guidelines. The projects have a 30 month completion timeline and a BOOT tenure of 35 years. For both projects, the selected bidder will acquire 100% equity in a pre incorporated special purpose vehicle and will be required to obtain all applicable regulatory approvals and transmission licences.
