Pace Digitek unit secures Rs 94 crore BSNL battery order

Pace Digitek Limited said its subsidiary, Lineage Power Private Limited, has received an advance purchase order worth Rs 94.35 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The disclosure was made in a regulatory filing dated 20 January 2026. The order includes supply, installation, and commissioning of 25,000 smart Li ion battery modules and 2,500 weather resistant racks, along with a five year Annual Maintenance Contract starting after a five year warranty period. The systems will support BSNL’s 48V DC telecom infrastructure and comply with Telecom Engineering Centre standards, with execution scheduled within five months of the formal purchase order.

Inox Green wins solar O&M contract for 625 MWp Bhadla project

Inox Green Energy Services Limited said on 20 January 2026 that it has signed an agreement with KEC International Ltd. to provide operations and maintenance services for a 625 MWp solar project in Bhadla, Rajasthan. The contract was awarded through a Letter of Acceptance. With this addition, the company’s managed solar O&M portfolio has crossed 3 GW, while its total renewable O and M portfolio exceeds 13 GW. The company said the order supports its strategy of scaling both solar and wind operations.

Genus Power to acquire full stake in Newlectric Innovation

Genus Power Infrastructures Limited has agreed to acquire the remaining 86.49% equity in Newlectric Innovation Private Limited for Rs 25.23 crore. The transaction was disclosed in a regulatory filing dated 20 January 2026 and is being executed through a Share Purchase Agreement. Genus Power currently holds a 13.51% stake, and the acquisition is expected to be completed within 30 days. The company said the move will enable operational consolidation and support scaling up of smart meter manufacturing.

Rajgarh III Power Transmission struck off after project merger

Rajgarh III Power Transmission Limited has been struck off the Register of Companies with effect from 20 January 2026. The entity was a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited. The strike off follows the merger of the Rajgarh Phase III scheme with the Neemuch Phase II project, as recommended by the National Committee on Transmission. A new SPV, Rajgarh Neemuch Power Transmission Limited, will implement the combined Rs 3,472 crore project.

Suzlon signals next phase with Wind 2.0 initiatives

Suzlon Energy Vice Chairman Girish Tanti said the company is entering a new growth phase under its Wind 2.0 and Suzlon 2.0 initiatives. Speaking at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, he said the wind business will be reorganised into separate verticals for products, engineering, procurement and construction, and services. These verticals will be supported by digital transformation and enhanced safety systems. Tanti linked Suzlon’s future growth to India’s renewable expansion and advances in energy storage.

Vikram Solar reports strong Q3 FY26 performance

Vikram Solar Limited reported robust growth in its unaudited results for the quarter ended 31 December 2025. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 1,106 crore, while EBITDA increased to Rs 205 crore with margins of 19%. Profit after tax stood at Rs 98 crore, up 416% year on year. The company reported an order book of 10.6 GW and commissioned a new 5 GW module facility at Vallam, taking total capacity to 9.5 GW.

POWERGRID approves Rs 914 crore capex for cold spare equipment

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited said on 20 January 2026 that it has approved capital expenditure of about Rs 914 crore for procuring cold spare transformers and reactors. Power Ministry eases DPIIT norms for BESS bidders

The Ministry of Power has granted a one year relaxation of industrial registration requirements for bidders in grid connected battery energy storage system tenders. The relaxation applies to bidders using lithium ion cells through transfer of technology arrangements with companies from land border sharing countries. The waiver takes effect from 09 January 2026. The ministry said the move addresses limited domestic cell availability and aims to prevent project delays.

Kosol Energie plans Rs 90,000 crore renewables investment in Gujarat

Kosol Energie Pvt Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding to invest around Rs 90,000 crore in renewable energy projects in Gujarat. The MoU was formalised during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2026. Planned investments include solar manufacturing, research and development, renewable energy parks, and green hydrogen and ammonia ecosystems. The company estimates the projects will generate over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs.

SECI and PTC India sign MoU for renewables and storage projects

Solar Energy Corporation of India and PTC India Limited exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding on 19 January 2026. The partnership covers renewable energy integration, power market operations, battery energy storage systems, and structured power products. China’s coal power falls in 2025 as renewables scale up

China’s coal based power generation fell in 2025, marking its first annual decline in a decade, according to data reported by Reuters. Thermal power output dropped by 1% to 6.29 trillion kWh, while total electricity consumption exceeded 10 trillion kWh for the first time. Analysts attributed the decline to rapid renewable capacity additions and slower demand growth. Hydropower and nuclear generation rose by 2.8% and 7.7% respectively, signalling continued diversification of China’s power mix.
