Onix Renewable Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to undertake large-scale renewable energy projects in the state.

Under the MoU, the company has proposed setting up a green ammonia production facility at Fulzar, Taluka Vinchiya, District Rajkot, with a planned investment of Rs 10,000 crore. The project is expected to generate around 1,500 jobs, with commercial operations targeted to begin in 2028.

Onix Renewable Ltd has also proposed the development of projects under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Component-C at multiple locations across Gujarat. The proposals involve investments of Rs 121 crore and Rs 280 crore, with project execution scheduled to commence in 2026. These initiatives are expected to create around 680 direct and indirect employment opportunities and support decentralised solar generation, grid strengthening, and improved energy access for agricultural and rural consumers.

In addition, the company has proposed underground cable works at multiple locations in the state, with a proposed investment of Rs 75 crore. These projects are planned to start in 2026 and are expected to generate around 200 employment opportunities.

The proposals were part of investment commitments made during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference held in Rajkot. The conference saw four companies sign MoUs with the Government of Gujarat, committing investments exceeding Rs 34,000 crore across renewable power, biofuels, and biogas projects.
