APAR Industries announces leadership change in Cable Solutions

APAR Industries Limited reported a leadership transition in its Cable Solutions division following the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer. Mr Shashi Amin stepped down from the role with effect from the close of business hours on 12 December 2025 to pursue opportunities outside the organisation. The company appointed Mr Chandrashekhar Shrotri as the new Chief Executive Officer with effect from 04 December 2025. Mr Shrotri brings over 35 years of experience and previously served as Segment Chief Executive Officer for Region IAA at Siemens Limited, overseeing operations across 22 countries.

Tata Power wins transmission SPV, plans Rs 2,000 crore NCD issue

Tata Power received a Letter of Intent from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited for acquiring Jejuri Hinjevadi Power Transmission Limited. The Build Own Operate Transfer project involves around 115 km of a 400 kV double circuit transmission line between Jejuri and Hinjevadi, along with substation bay extensions. The transmission service agreement has a tenure of 35 years, with annual transmission charges of Rs 155.78 crore. Separately, Tata Power announced plans to raise Rs 2,000 crore through private placement of unsecured, rated non convertible debentures with three year and five year maturities.

BHEL appoints new heads for power marketing and FSIP units

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited announced leadership appointments for two key business units through disclosures dated 15 December 2025. Shri Navin Kaul was appointed General Manager and Head of Power Sector Marketing for Power Sector Business Group I in New Delhi. Shri Sunil Kumar Somani was appointed General Manager and Head of the Fabrication, Stamping and Insulator Plant at Jagdishpur. BHEL also informed stock exchanges that 16 senior executives were promoted to Executive Director with effect from 10 December 2025.

Inox Wind secures 202.3 MW of new orders

Inox Wind Limited secured wind turbine supply orders totalling 202.3 MW for projects located in Karnataka and Gujarat. The company received a 102.3 MW order from ABREL EPC Ltd for the supply of 3.3 MW wind turbine generators, marking its first order from the Aditya Birla Renewables group. It also secured a repeat 100 MW order from Jakson Green Private Limited for projects in Gujarat, including limited scope engineering, procurement and construction services. With these additions, Inox Wind said its total order inflow for FY26 stands at around 600 MW.

POWERGRID wins SR–ER transmission project

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited was declared the successful bidder for the Inter Regional Strengthening between SR Grid and ER Grid project under tariff based competitive bidding. The project will be implemented on a Build Own Operate Transfer basis and has an estimated cost of Rs 2,710 crore. It involves development of 765 kV double circuit transmission lines through Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, along with associated reactor and bay works. The scheme is intended to enhance import capability into the Southern Region and manage rising peak demand.

Waaree Energies incorporates new IPP subsidiary

Waaree Energies Limited informed stock exchanges about the incorporation of Eco Flux Renewables Private Limited as a new step down subsidiary. The entity is a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited and has been classified as an Independent Power Producer. The subsidiary has been established to facilitate and hold specific power projects under the IPP framework. The company clarified that the incorporation does not qualify as a related party transaction.

Government introduces new nuclear energy bill in Lok Sabha

The Government of India introduced the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha. The Bill seeks to repeal the Atomic Energy Act, 1962 and the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Act, 2010, replacing them with a unified legal framework. It proposes wider participation by private companies, government companies, and joint ventures in nuclear power development, while retaining certain strategic activities with the Central Government. The legislation also strengthens regulatory oversight, revises civil liability provisions, and aligns nuclear expansion with the target of achieving 100 GW of capacity by 2047.

SECI awards 6.25 MW rooftop solar projects under RESCO auction

The Solar Energy Corporation of India announced the results of its 6.25 MW grid connected rooftop solar auction conducted under the renewable energy service company mode. Projects were awarded across government institutions in six states at tariffs ranging from Rs 3.34 per kWh to Rs 4.65 per kWh. Successful bidders include Enfros Solutions, Sesola Power Projects, Himalayan Solar, and Stockwell Solar Services. Separately, SECI signed a memorandum of understanding with Odisha state agencies to develop battery energy storage systems, pumped storage projects, and solar projects with storage.

Hitachi Energy wins contract for Finland’s largest battery storage project

Hitachi Energy secured a contract from Nordic Electro Power to supply systems for Finland’s largest battery energy storage project. The 125 MW project is being developed by Alpiq in Haapajärvi and is intended to support Fingrid’s reserve market. Commissioning is planned for mid 2027. Hitachi Energy’s scope includes power conversion systems, transformers, control systems, and long term service support to help maintain grid stability as renewable energy penetration increases.
