ACME Solar appoints new EPC president

ACME Solar Holdings Limited has appointed KR Thiyagarajan as President of its EPC division. He will report to the Chief Executive Officer, and Harjinder Kamboj will now report to him. Thiyagarajan brings more than 35 years of experience and will lead project execution and technology integration. The company said the changes support its plan to reach 10 GW by 2030.

Waaree Energies forms new subsidiary for IPP project development

Waaree Energies Limited has created Solaris Horizon Energy Private Limited as a wholly owned step down subsidiary. The new entity will hold projects under the Independent Power Producer model. It has not begun operations and has no turnover. The filing was made under Regulation 30.

Sterling and Wilson sets up a new subsidiary in Romania

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited has formed a new step down subsidiary in Romania through its Dubai based arm. The entity will handle utility scale electricity construction and has a capital of 100 Romanian Leu. It is newly incorporated and has no turnover.

Torrent Power signs LNG supply agreement with JERA for gas-based generation

Torrent Power Limited has entered a ten year LNG supply agreement with JERA Company Incorporated for up to 0.27 million metric tonnes per annum from 2027. The fuel will support the firm’s 2,730 MW gas generation and the growing needs of Torrent Gas Limited. The company said the move aligns with India’s aim to increase natural gas use by 2030.

RECPDCL invites bids for three intra-state transmission projects in Maharashtra

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited has issued three Requests for Proposal for new intra state transmission projects in Thane, Raigad and Dhule. The works include new 400 kV and 765 kV substations and related lines to serve demand growth and renewable power evacuation. Bids are due on 09 February 2026.

Helical Fusion signs Japan’s first fusion power PPA with Aoki Super

Helical Fusion has signed a fusion energy supply agreement with Aoki Super. The deal links the firm’s planned stellarator reactor to a major retail power consumer. The company plans a 50 to 100 megawatt electrical pilot unit by about 2040 and said the agreement reflects market confidence in its development programme.
