Adani Green forms two new renewable energy subsidiaries

Adani Green Energy has created two wholly owned subsidiaries to support its expansion in renewable power. Urjasetu Renewables and Hydrobloom Power were incorporated on 02 December 2025 under Adani Renewable Energy Holding Eleven. Each entity has authorised and paid up capital of Rs 1,00,000 and neither has started operations. Both will undertake power generation and related activities using renewable sources and are fully held by AREH11L. Adani Green said the move did not involve related party transactions and required no government approvals.

KPI Green wins EPC contract for 142 MW floating solar project

KPI Green Energy has received an EPC order from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation for a 142 MW DC floating solar project at the Kadana Dam reservoir. The order is valued at about Rs 489.17 crore and was disclosed in a filing on 02 December 2025. The package covers design, engineering, construction, installation and associated grid works, including a 33 kV underground line and new substation bays. KPI Green will operate the plant under a 10-year O&M agreement and has 18 months to finish the project. Company leadership said the order supports its move into floating solar and confirmed it is a domestic, non related party contract.

NLCIL appoints Rajesh Pratap Singh Sisodia as Director of Planning and Projects

NLC India has appointed Shri Rajesh Pratap Singh Sisodia as Director of Planning and Projects with effect from 02 December 2025. He has taken charge at the Neyveli headquarters. He brings more than 35 years of experience, mainly from Bharat Heavy Electricals, where he last served as Executive Director. His background spans design, site construction and project management for major EPC projects across the power and industrial sectors. NLC India said his experience in renewable energy and coal gasification will support its long term plans.

REC promotes Hemant Kumar as Executive Director

REC has promoted Shri Hemant Kumar to Executive Director with effect from 02 December 2025. The company announced the decision in a stock exchange filing. He previously served as Chief General Manager of Finance and Accounts and holds degrees in Finance and Science. The new position places him one level below the Board. REC added that the promotion is internal and that there are no inter se relationships among directors.

SWREL reports its largest domestic solar EPC win of the fiscal year

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy has reported new orders and a strategic partnership with Adani Green Energy. The company said in a 01 December 2025 release that the development strengthens its position in the domestic EPC market. It has won about Rs 1,381 crore in orders for Balance of System work across three solar projects in the Khavda Renewable Energy Park. It has also signed a five year Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement with Adani Green to support future renewable buildout. The company said this is its largest domestic EPC win of the fiscal year, taking total inflows past Rs 6,450 crore, and noted ongoing work on about 6 GW in Khavda and a recent 240 MW AC turnkey EPC order in South Africa.

Envision Energy India wins 300 MW wind turbine order

Envision Energy India has secured a 300 MW order from UPC Renewables India for projects in Karnataka. The order includes 60 wind turbine generators for the Bijapur site. The first phase totals 100 MW with 20 turbines set for delivery early next year and linked to a power supply agreement with SJVN. This phase is planned to begin operations in January 2027. Once fully commissioned, the projects are expected to produce about 900 million units each year.

APTRANSCO awards 1,000 MW BESS tender with VGF support

APTRANSCO has released the results of its VGF tender for 1,000 MW and 2,000 MWh standalone BESS projects. The tender was issued in August 2025 using a single stage, two envelope process. SVR Electro Projects won 25 MW and 50 MWh at Rs 148,000 per MW per month. Ecoren Energy, Bhagwati Group, Legion Energy Products, Bondada Engineering and Power Grid Corporation also secured capacities at tariffs ranging from Rs 150,000 to Rs 165,000 per MW per month. Projects will follow a build, own and operate model with VGF capped at Rs 1.8 million per MWh and released in three phases, and will be located across several substations.

TEPCO seeks approval to revive world’s largest nuclear plant

A regional assembly in Japan has opened discussions on a partial restart of the Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant. The plant has been offline since the 2011 Fukushima disaster and TEPCO is seeking approval to bring Unit 6 back online. The site lies about 300 kilometres north of Tokyo in Kashiwazaki city and Kariwa village. TEPCO leadership and the Prime Minister have said the restart is important for energy security in a country that depends on imported fuels. Local representatives have raised concerns about evacuation readiness as the assembly reviews the plan through 22 December, with TEPCO aiming for a January restart if approved.
