Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd has closed its Phase VII tender for 4 GWh of battery storage capacity. The process covered 2 GW with two hours of storage and led to tariffs between Rs 1.85 lakh and Rs 1.89 lakh per MW per month.
The auction’s lowest tariff was Rs 1.8539 lakh per MW per month, quoted by Sun Drops Energia, also known as KP Green. The highest winning tariff was Rs 1.89 lakh per MW per month. Ultimate Flexipack secured the largest project at 450 MW or 900 MWh at this tariff. Engie Energy India won 280 MW or 560 MWh at Rs 1.87 lakh. MEC Power Solutions won 65 MW or 130 MWh at Rs 1.87994 lakh.
The table below provides a complete overview of all bidders, their quoted and final prices in Rs, allocated capacity, and their percentage difference from the lowest (Rank 1) bid.
The selected developers will set up the battery systems in Gujarat and connect them to the intrastate transmission network. The projects will follow a build, own, and operate model. Developers will offer the storage capacity to GUVNL for charging and discharging when required, and GUVNL will sign storage purchase agreements with each successful bidder.
These projects qualify for viability gap funding. The systems will draw power from the GETCO grid and inject it back into the network based on dispatch directions issued by the State Load Dispatch Centre in coordination with GUVNL. Each developer needs to ensure two complete charge and discharge cycles per day.
