SAEL Industries Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to invest Rs 22,000 crore in renewable energy and infrastructure projects. The plan includes setting up over 1,750 MW of solar and battery storage systems across the Kadapa and Kurnool districts. The projects will be implemented through a tender-based process in line with state regulations.

The investment also covers biomass energy, data centres, and port infrastructure. The state government expects the projects to create about 7,000 direct and 70,000 indirect jobs. The MoU, valid for 12 months, will pave the way for tenders and formal bidding by eligible companies.

Officials said the inclusion of large-scale battery storage will improve reliability in renewable power supply and support grid stability. The initiative strengthens Andhra Pradesh’s position as a leading destination for clean-energy investments.

The announcement comes ahead of the CII Partnership Summit on November 14–15 in Visakhapatnam, where Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh said 410 MoUs worth Rs 9.8 lakh crore are expected to be signed, generating an estimated 7.5 lakh jobs.

SAEL Industries has also filed draft papers for an initial public offering valued at Rs 4,575 crore ($520 million) as of November 3.
