Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced that the state will host India’s first indigenously developed semiconductor chip plant, a significant milestone in the electronics and semiconductor sector. Highlighting the state’s achievements, Patel noted that Gujarat has attracted Rs 1,000 billion in investments in this sector, crediting the success to the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, which played a crucial role in drawing investments in emerging technologies like AI and semiconductors.
In addition to these announcements, Patel outlined plans for significant infrastructure development, including a Rs 50 billion investment to enhance road infrastructure across Gujarat. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to contributing to India’s national vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047, emphasizing Gujarat’s role as a leading state in this endeavour.
In the renewable energy sector, Patel announced Gujarat’s ambitious goal of installing 100 GW of renewable energy by 2030 and highlighted the state’s leadership in solar rooftop initiatives. He also introduced the PM Surya Ghar scheme, aiming to provide free electricity to 1 million households.
