TotalEnergies completes renewable energy acquisitions across Europe, Africa, and Canada

TotalEnergies has completed the acquisition of multiple renewable energy projects across Europe, Africa, and Canada. These include wind, solar, and hydropower assets in partnership with VSB Group, SN Power, and RES.
In Europe, the acquisition of VSB Group adds 500 MW of capacity that is either installed or under construction, along with a development pipeline of over 15 GW in wind and solar.
In Africa, TotalEnergies has acquired SN Power’s assets, gaining a 28.3 per cent stake in the operational 225 MW Bujagali hydropower plant in Uganda. It will also hold stakes in two hydropower projects under development—206 MW in Rwanda and 360 MW in Malawi.
In Canada, TotalEnergies has signed an agreement with RES to acquire over 800 MW of wind and solar projects in Alberta. It has also closed the acquisition of Big Sky Solar, a 184 MW solar facility commissioned in February 2025.
These transactions support TotalEnergies’ strategy to expand its renewable energy footprint across key international markets.
