Waaree wins solar module supply contract for 250 MW NHPC project

Waaree Renewable Energy Technologies Limited, formerly Sangam Renewables Limited, secured a contract from Khaba Renewable Energy Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Engie, to supply solar modules for a 250 MW (362.5 MWp) ISTS-connected solar power project in Barmer, Rajasthan. The project, awarded under NHPC Limited, was announced on February 19, 2025.
The supply of modules is expected to begin in the financial year (FY) 2026.
In November 2023, Solairedirect Energy India Private Limited, an Engie subsidiary, secured 250 MW under NHPC’s 3,000 MW solar auction by quoting a tariff of Rs 2.52 per kWh. NHPC had invited bids for the auction in June 2023.
NHPC has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for electricity procurement from the project.
