Telangana aims to add 20,000 MW to its existing renewable energy generation and storage capacity by 2030, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced.
The state will focus on Standalone Renewable Energy Projects, floating solar, Waste to Energy, and Green Hydrogen to achieve this goal. The current renewable energy capacity stands at 11,399 MW, including 7,889 MW from solar energy.
With major infra projects underway, peak electricity demand is expected to rise significantly, from 15,623 MW in FY24 to 31,809 MW by FY35. The new policy includes incentives to encourage investments and reduce developer costs.
