The Government of India has applied for a USD 186 million loan from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) for the Assam Intra-State Transmission System Enhancement Project Phase II.
The initiative aims to strengthen Assam’s electricity transmission system by constructing new transmission sub-stations, upgrading existing ones, and installing optical power ground wire (OPGW) in the state.
