National Grid Renewables has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) for the 150 MW Bee Hollow solar project in St. Clair County, Illinois.
Construction is slated to start in 2025, expanding the company’s solar capacity in Illinois to 350 MW, including the Prairie Wolf solar project in Coles County.
The Bee Hollow project is expected to generate $34 million in economic benefits over 20 years, including tax revenue, landowner income, and job creation.
In addition, National Grid Renewables commenced construction on the 117 MW Dodson Creek solar project in Highland County, Ohio, in September 2024. This project is anticipated to bring $49 million in local economic benefits.
