SSE Renewables and FuturEnergy Ireland have submitted a planning application for the 122 MW Cummeennabuddoge wind farm to An Bord Pleanala, Ireland’s national planning authority. The project, located 5km northwest of Ballyvourney on the Cork-Kerry border, aims to power 81,900 homes annually and contribute to Ireland’s clean energy goals.

The 17-turbine wind farm could produce 375,000 MWh of electricity per year, displacing 4.5 million tonnes of carbon emissions over its lifespan. The project will generate 130 jobs during construction, delivering local economic benefits.

FuturEnergy Ireland and SSE Renewables highlighted the project’s role in driving Ireland’s renewable energy transition, pending necessary approvals and investment decisions.
