GAIL (India) and AM Green BV (AMG) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on October 4, 2024, to collaborate on advancing sustainable energy solutions. The partnership will focus on the supply of carbon dioxide (CO2) for eMethanol production and the development of hybrid renewable energy projects across India.

As part of the MoU, the two companies will explore the long-term supply of around 350 KTA of CO2 from GAIL’s gas processing plants for the production of eMethanol, contributing to carbon emission reduction. GAIL also has the option to invest equity in the proposed eMethanol project.

In addition, the partnership will jointly explore setting up hybrid solar/wind renewable projects of up to 2.5 GW across India. These hybrid projects, combined with Greenko’s upcoming pump storage projects, will provide round-the-clock (RTC) power to end users, including the eMethanol facility.
