Russian state nuclear company Rosatom has initiated the installation of the Inner Containment for the reactor building at Unit 2 of Egypt’s El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant. This reinforced concrete structure, capped with a semispherical dome, is designed to prevent radioactive leakage during emergencies. Weighing between 60 to 80 tons per segment, the containment forms a key safety component.
The installation marks a significant milestone following the completion of Unit 1’s Inner Containment earlier this year. The project, which involves the simultaneous construction of four units, is a collaborative effort between Russian and Egyptian teams.
