Vestas secures turbines order for Ukraine’s largest wind energy project

Vestas has secured an order to supply turbines for the second phase of the Tyligulska wind energy project in Ukraine, the country’s largest renewable energy project.  Following the successful commissioning of the first phase in spring 2023, Vestas will deliver 64 turbines, contributing 384MW to the project’s total capacity of 498MW across both phases. Mongolia has entered into a partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to enhance the country’s renewable energy sector.  Announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos (January 2025), the EBRD will help Mongolia develop solar, wind, and energy storage projects through auctions. Mitsubishi completes 1.4GW Hin Kong GTCC power plant in Thailand

Mitsubishi Power, part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, has completed the 1.4GW Hin Kong natural gas-fired gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plant in Thailand.  The plant, a joint venture between RATCH Group and Gulf Energy Development, features two advanced M701JAC gas turbines.  The second turbine began commercial operations 100km west of Bangkok, following the first turbine’s operational start in March 2024. United Group invests €120m in green electricity production in Bulgaria

United Group, a Southeastern Europe-based telecommunications and media company, has committed €120 million ($124.6 million) to green electricity production in Bulgaria.  The investment will supply 160% of the electricity needed for the company’s Bulgarian operations and meet 65% of its total electricity demand by 2027, reducing CO₂ emissions by 120,000 tonnes annually. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) announced that its subsidiary, Powergrid Sikar Transmission Ltd, has received notification for the commercial operation of  “Transmission system strengthening scheme for evacuation of power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part-C.”  The project, which was fully commissioned on December 19, 2024, became operational on January 22, 2025.
