WAPCOS secures contracts for two pumped storage projects in Maharashtra

WAPCOS Limited has been awarded two contracts for preparing detailed project reports (DPRs) for pumped storage projects in Maharashtra.
The first contract, valued at Rs 156.87 million, is for the 800 MW Amba Pumped Storage Project (PSP), located across Pune and Raigad districts.
The project, comprising four units of 200 MW each, was put out to bid by NTPC Limited in September 2024, with an expected completion timeline of 18 months.
In addition, WAPCOS has also secured a contract worth Rs 191.2 million for the 1,000 MW Kumbhe Pumped Storage Project, located at Kumbhe village in Mangaon taluka, Raigad district.
This project, consisting of four units of 250 MW, was awarded by NTPC Limited in October 2024. The work for the Kumbhe project is also set to be completed within 18 months.
