Waaree Energies has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMSL) and M.P. Power Management Co. Ltd (MPPMCL) for the supply of 150 MW solar power to MPPMCL.
The PPA follows a Letter of Award (LoA) received by Waaree Forever Energies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies, for developing a 170 MW ISTS-connected solar power project in Madhya Pradesh. The execution of the project will now be carried out directly by Waaree Energies.
The power generated will be supplied to both MPPMCL and Indian Railways.
Waaree Energies, headquartered in Mumbai, operates solar PV module manufacturing facilities with an installed capacity of 15 GW and solar cell manufacturing capacity of 5.4 GW. The company is actively expanding into the power infrastructure space, with 170 MW currently under development and one acquisition in progress.

Author: PPD Team Date: February 28, 2025 Photovoltaics (PV) and wind now dominate Europe’s power generation, surpassing fossil fuels, according to the latest Enervis report. However, increasing cannibalization of renewable energy is reducing market revenues for solar and wind power producers. Cannibalization occurs when high solar and wind generation floods the electricity market, driving down prices, sometimes even turning negative. In 2024, this effect was particularly strong in Germany, where PV capture rates dropped to…
