UltraTech Cement Limited has agreed to acquire a 26.18% equity stake in Sunsure Solarpark Seven Private Limited, which is developing a 60 MWp DC / 40 MW AC solar project with integrated battery storage in Charkhari, Uttar Pradesh. The company will invest up to Rs 19.20 crore in cash for the stake.

The acquisition was disclosed on March 18, 2026 to BSE and NSE under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) listing regulations. UltraTech stated that the investment is intended to meet its green energy requirements, reduce energy costs, and comply with captive consumption norms under Indian electricity laws. The transaction is not classified as a related-party deal.

Sunsure Solarpark Seven Private Limited, incorporated in July 2022 and based in Gurugram, has not reported operational revenue to date. The project includes a battery energy storage system (BESS) integrated with the solar asset. Completion is expected within 180 days of signing the Energy Supply Agreement and Share Subscription and Shareholders Agreement. No regulatory approvals are required.

The investment reflects a broader trend among large industrial consumers toward captive renewable energy sourcing. For UltraTech, this approach supports cost management and sustainability targets, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements linked to captive power consumption.
