Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems (India) (TTDI) will invest Rs 562 crore to expand its manufacturing capacity in Telangana.
The announcement came after TTDI signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Telangana government during a ceremony in Tokyo.
The event was attended by Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy and Hiroshi Furuta, Chairman and Managing Director of TTDI. The investment is expected to create over 250 direct jobs over the next three years, starting in FY2024.
TTDI, a subsidiary of Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation (Japan), plans to use the funds to increase transformer production for both domestic and export markets.
TTDI and the Telangana government also intend to collaborate on skill development programs to train local talent and support the state’s industrial growth. The investment is expected to contribute to the region’s socio-economic development through job creation and increased manufacturing activity.
