Torrent Power has announced plans to invest Rs 180 billion in establishing a thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh. The project is expected to create employment for over 7,000 individuals, both directly and indirectly.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted the state’s industry-friendly environment, which includes special incentives for sectors such as tourism, IT, and readymade garments. The six recent Regional Industry Conclaves (RICs) have attracted investments exceeding Rs 4,000 billion, expected to generate over 300,000 jobs.
At the RIC, proposals worth Rs 325.2 billion were received, with more than 30,000 jobs anticipated. Other notable investments include Rs 330 billion from Shri Bajrang Power and Ispat for mining, Rs 250 billion from Select Builders for renewable energy, Rs 250 billion from Sharda Energy and Minerals for mining, and Rs 120 billion from DDTC Exim for textiles.
