TMEIC expands PV manufacturing in Texas

TMEIC Corporation Americas, a subsidiary of Japan’s TMEIC Corporation, will relocate its headquarters to Houston, Texas, in March 2025. Alongside this move, TMEIC will establish a 144,000 sq ft facility in Brookshire, Texas, dedicated to manufacturing utility-scale PV inverters, reinforcing its commitment to U.S. photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing. As of July 2024, TMEIC has installed over 50 GW of renewable energy systems globally, with 28 GW in North America since entering the U.S. market in 2010.

Relocating from Roanoke, Virginia, to Houston aligns with TMEIC’s growth strategy in renewable energy and domestic manufacturing. The new headquarters will foster innovation, support team expansion, and enhance client services. TMEIC will continue its operations in Roanoke, focusing on advanced automation, AC motors, and variable frequency drive systems for various industries.

The Brookshire facility, opening in October 2024, will initially produce 9 GW annually, with room for expansion. This project, along with the headquarters move, is expected to create up to 300 jobs locally, highlighting TMEIC’s commitment to advancing clean energy and maintaining a strong U.S. manufacturing presence.
