Four major transmission and distribution (T&D) contracts were awarded this week across metering, substation, and grid modernisation segments. Here’s a summary of key developments:
Apraava Energy wins Puducherry AMISP contract
Apraava Energy Private Limited has secured a contract worth Rs 3.57 billion to serve as the Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) for smart prepaid metering in Puducherry. The contract, awarded under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), was tendered by PFC Consulting Limited in February 2024. It covers the full deployment and operation of smart meters across the Union Territory.
Hartek Power wins 400 kV substation project in Karnataka
Hartek Power Private Limited has bagged a Rs 1.38 billion contract for a 400 kV AIS Substation (Package SS66T) under PGCIL’s transmission scheme for integrating Davanagere, Chitradurga, and Bellary Renewable Energy Zones.
The turnkey contract, awarded on July 2, 2025, covers design to commissioning. Hartek has built substations up to 400 kV across India and, as of September 2024, crossed 10 GW of installed capacity in grid and solar segments.
Coronet–Devyansh JV to modernize HP grid
The Joint Venture of Coronet Engineers and Devyansh Construction has won a Rs 915.8 million contract under the Himachal Pradesh Power Sector Development Program. The project, funded by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, aims to provide reliable 24×7 power in Bilaspur, Hamirpur, and Una by implementing smart grid technologies. Bids were invited by HPSEB in December 2024.
KPIL secures Rs 9.89 billion in global T&D orders
Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL) and its subsidiaries have secured new international T&D contracts worth Rs 9.89 billion. These wins raise KPIL’s total order intake for FY26 to around Rs 71.50 billion.
