Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) and Tata Power Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) have signed an agreement with Grid Corporation of Odisha (GRIDCO) and Suryam International Private Limited to develop 21.46 MW of solar power projects in Odisha.
These projects will be installed near pooling substations (PSS) under component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program.
The projects will be connected to the following substations:
- Bandhopala PSS: 9.553 MW
- Narla PSS: 8.082 MW
- Bantala PSS: 4.632 MW
- Kurmpuri PSS: 3.83 MW
Suryam International will set up these solar plants to support agricultural feeder solarization in the state. GRIDCO has also signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Suryam International to procure power from these projects.
Additionally, GRIDCO has signed an agreement with Avaada Green H2 Private Limited, a subsidiary of Avaada Power Private Limited, to provide a 300 MW renewable energy (RE) power banking facility. This facility will support a 0.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) green ammonia plant at Gopalpur in Ganjam district. The power banking facility will operate for 25 years, starting in December 2028.
