Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL), the distribution arm of Tata Power in the National Capital, has been ranked among the top 10 power utilities worldwide in the Smart Grid Index 2024.
The Smart Grid Index, developed by Singapore Power Group (SP Group), measures the “smartness” of electricity grids globally. This year, the study covered 92 utilities in 36 countries, identifying best practices and fostering knowledge-sharing to accelerate the global development of smart grid technologies.
The evaluation process ranked utilities based on seven critical parameters: Monitoring & Control, Data Analytics, Supply Reliability, DER Integration, Green Energy, Security, and Customer Empowerment and Satisfaction.
Tata Power-DDL achieved a score of 83.9%, excelling in Monitoring & Control, Green Energy, Security, and Customer Empowerment & Satisfaction. It is the only Indian discom ranked in the top 10 globally.
With its discoms in Delhi, Odisha, Ajmer, and Mumbai, Tata Power serves 12.5 million consumers, reaching a population of over 50 million. The company continues to integrate advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
